ANIMAL POV

If you’re writing from the animal’s point of view, use animal senses. In many animals, the sense of smell is far more developed than in humans. They can locate potential prey and note potential threats by scent, often from a considerable distance.

Predator animals react strongly to the scent of blood. Once an opponent is injured, the PoV may experience overwhelming reactions.

WERES

When a human turns into an animal, he acquires that animal’s instincts. Is that animal mostly ‘prey’ or is it mostly ‘predator’? This determines the fighting style.

Sensory perceptions also change. Once a human changes into an animal, he may get a sharper sense of hearing and a much keener sense of smell. This affects how he notes threats and how he reacts to them, how he responds to the sight and smell of blood, and how he fights.

In legend and in paranormal fiction, it usually takes a silver bullet to kill a were. It’s possible to cast silver bullets, and to shoot them from a normal gun, as long as the size and shape of the bullets fits the gun. However, silver bullets are less accurate than normal ones. This can cause interesting challenges for the shooter who may need to get closer to the target than usual, or to fire several shots.

For originality, consider using something other than silver bullets. If the slaying of a were requires silver in its flesh, how about a silver arrowhead? Maybe a silvered spear-tip or a silvered dagger-point?
